Join us for a special show dedicated in honor of a special friend, Family Member, Artist and all around Rock Star that was Jordan Deschene. We have gathered a collection of artists in the Connecticut area for the first of many shows to honor the work, and also display works inspired by him. On display will be Jordan's large portfolio of work as well as several works by professional artist lucky enough to have known him.

Jordan Deshcene ( Aug 16, 1981 - Aug 9, 2012 ) was a graduate of Lyman Memorial High School. A talented and passionate artist influenced by, among others, Shel Silverstein, Crayola and Dr. Seuss, earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration and Ceramics from the University of Hartford, graduating Cum Laude. Jordan served a residency with the Art League of Farmington and was Artist in Residence at the Farmington Valley Art Center during the summer of 2011. Jordan's art work has been featured at numerous art shows in CT and he also shared his knowledge and talent for teaching at Manchester High School for one year. He was general manager, Instructor and resident artist at the Paris in Plantsville Gallery in Plantsville, CT. Jordan was dedicated to community service and served one year with City Year/ Boston/Americorps. He was also an avid reader and history buff, with a great art for conversation and good natured debate on any number of subjects as his many beloved friends and family will attest. He had a a great love of learning as well as a love of the outdoors. He was happiest, when not painting, to hike and kayak and truly enjoyed his work at Eastern Mountain Sports where he was able to share his passion with others.

Please Join us May 11, 2013 7- 10 p.m. for an opening reception of a celebration of Jordan's amazing body of work and the great memories so many of us will never forget!
(Thanks Mike Finland!)
